Lutheran Church of Reconciliation

Ash Wednesday – don’t be afraid of the dark

A Visual Liturgy Lent Benediction Series

ASH WEDNESDAY – February 17th

As with so much else, Lent will be unique this year. We will begin, as we always do, on Ash Wednesday with the Imposition of Ashes. Only this year we will offer ashes outside in the parking lot. When you arrive, drive up to a station where we will offer a short confession and prayer followed by the gift of ashes. Our stations will be open at 10am, 3pm, and 5:50pm.

We will also begin our virtual, visual worship with a ZOOM gathering. These gatherings will be offered at 12 noon and 6:30pm each Wednesday during Lent. (The invitation to the gathering is below.) A participants’ guide will be available next week via email; or you may drop by the church office and pick up a copy.

We have been living with a dark feeling hovering over us this past year. Join the journey with your friends and family to the light of Easter. Don’t be afraid.
