
Joanne Saxon
LCOR Preschool Director
Mrs. Saxon is starting her 13th school year as Director at LCOR Preschool. She has worked in the early childhood field for over 35 years as a teacher, director and college instructor in CFCC’s Early Childhood Dept.
Joanne has a BS in education from SUNY Old Westbury as well as an Administrative Credential Certificate from the state of NC.
Mrs. Saxon has been married to her husband Gary for 29 years and together have raised two daughters, Allison & Nicole. She enjoys reading, biking, boating, gardening and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Saxon has a genuine love for all children and truly believes that “children are our most precious gift from God!”

Johanne Ash
Lead pre-K teacher
Mrs. Ash is starting her 13 year at LCOR, four of the last years as the lead Pre-K teacher. Both of her children attended LCOR at the age of 2 and they both now attend Laney high school. She feels very fortunate that her children started their learning experiences at LCOR preschool! Mrs. Ash loves spending time with her family, walking her dogs and is very excited to help prepare your children for Kindergarten!

Danielle Knipp
Assistant pre-K teacher
Ms. Knipp is starting her third year at LCOR Preschool. She attended CFCC and UNCW where she earner a BA in Psychology. Danielle is originally from Daytona Beach, Fla. and has lived in Wilmington for over 23 years. Ms. Knipp has a nine year old daughter, Braelee, 1 dog and a cat. Danielle enjoys spending time with her daughter, family and friends as well as volunteering at her Church.
Whitney Daughtry
Lead three-year-old teacher
Mrs. Daughtry is starting her eighth year at LCOR. Whitney is a native of Wilmington and attended CFCC. She has been married for over 16 years and has a daughter Parker, who is in tenth grade. Mrs. Daughtry enjoys reading, working out, puzzles, boating, gardening, cooking and going to the beach. Whitney truly enjoys working with young children.

Emily Whetsel
Assistant three-year-old teacher
Ms. Whetsel is originally from Virginia and has been in the Wilmington area for over two years. Emily loves spending time with young children and has worked as a nanny, as well as doing mission work, VBS and summer camp at her Church in Ashburn VA. During her free time Emily is taking online classes through Indiana University of Pa. as well pet sitting for neighborhood families.


Traci Brodeur
Lead two-year-old teacher
Mrs. Brodeur (Mrs. B) has been teaching at LCOR for over ten years. Traci has always had a soft spot for the “toddlers & two-year old’s” and loves watching them grow! Mrs. Brodeur enjoys spending time with her family, walking her two dogs and working outside in her garden.

Kim Jacobs
Assistant two-year-old teacher
Mrs. Jacobs is beginning her second year at LCOR. Kim has lived in Wilmington for 20 years, has three daughters and loves spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Jacobs enjoys the beach, pools and going to White Lake with family.
